With Youth for Youth

European Youth Festival was conducted between 1999 and 2002 in Ankara by GSM-Youth Services Centre in cooperation with GENÇEV-Youth Culture House and with the financial support of European Union Turkey Delegation, public and private organizations.

European Youth Festival managed to reach 120.000 young people in four years by creating an international platform where youngsters had a chance to present their skills in music, dance, theatre and social area again to youngsters.

During the festival, music bands from Europe, as well as Turkey performed concerts and shows in the most prominent performance halls of Ankara. Not only artistic activities but also info fair and workshops directed by student clubs and NGOs have taken place in the festival contributed to the festival atmosphere. s.

 

Universities, student clubs, youth NGOs from different regions of Turkey and youth organizations from different countries of Europe came together at the Info Fair. Participating institutions and organizations had the opportunity to develop new partnerships nationally and internationally and come in contact with many young people. With free of charge involvement to Info Fair lasting two days, the festival has appealed to a wide range of participants.   

Workshops on different fields like shadow-show, forum theatre, photography, cinema, painting, poem, print art, flamenco, modern dance, street show, youth, rhythm, civil society, and so forth, were performed by specialist instructors in their fields from Turkey and Europe. Through these workshops, our young participants had a chance to discover their artistry, gain new perspectives in social affairs and practice what they acquired via these activities, in daily life.  

European Youth Festival name of a peaceful, indulgent, friendship atmosphere, enabled, many young people to come together to share their artistic and social accumulations and experiences.
