For More Youth Participation
As GSM-Youth Services Centre, we give consultancy service in order to share our knowledge and experiences on youth, civil society and development that we have gained since we were established with local, national and international organizations.
Our main goal with consultancy service is to make sure that youth and civil society dimension is included in the strategic plans and implementations of the organizations.
According to the National Human Development Report on Youth in Turkey published by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 21st of March, 2008, participation in civil society positively affects youth’s lives. Participation of youth in civil society is still approach hesitantly, though.
Government needs to be encouraging and conducting more projects and activities with NGOs in which local, national and international organizations can include youth so that the prejudices for civil society in Turkey can be removed and youth can take an active part in civil society. In this way, youth who is the most dynamic part of the society will be able to have stronger roles, to improve democratic life habits and to contribute to democracy development as active citizens.
It is very important to increase the efficiency of works on youth and civil society on a realistic ground and to make sure that organizations do sustainable works for improvement of youth policy and civil society in Turkey. As GSM-Youth Services Centre, we have the chance of sharing our specialties and experiences about the subjects that organizations need on youth and civil society through our consultancy service.
